DIA DE LLUVIA/
A day spent taking the water
Version Two
I bathe by the spring, au' naturale,
obscured by trees, apparently refreshed,
natures latest prodigy. From the opulent
goblet emits a soft cough and spitting.
Heavy drops plop atop the clay,
avid to be supped. The stiff
ribbon of road tacks finally
attaining the blue sky spring
Heaven accepts offerings:
which the sky restores as bounty--
Thirsting to grow, Parched
with expansive desire!
Leaves no longer tremble
in the icy breeze, they are
drapery spread to dry
in the cool alpine sun.
Hidden is the love of doves,
Why has life's cooing not been
banished for disturbing silence
with such piercing coos....
Their song has softened,
the mud bath readied,
impregnated with spring--
kneaded with broken herbs.
Beauty is no fault--such
comely trees, infuse with serenity.
Into the spring I dissolve
into a second bath of tears.
